The sciatic nerve is the longest nerve in the body because it is the nerve that has to pass all the way from the brain to the feet. Occasionally people develop a pain along the sciatic nerve whether because of compression of a disc on the nerve or through misalignmnet of the hips and the sacrum. This yoga sequence was created with the sciatic nerve in mind and involves a series of stretching and strengthening poses to help better align the bones and readjust the muscles near the branches of the sciatic nerves.
