There’s no such thing as pain that is only structural, or only neuroplastic (a brain misinterpretation or sensitized nervous system – or both!).
Our brain is always looking at all factors that influence our survival to determine our safety…
This means it’s watching our physical safety as well as our emotional, psychological and social safety – and it’s interpreting all of that data to determine if we need to feel pain as a motivator to find more safety.
Even with a structural injury there are psychological, emotional and social factors our brain is considering before determining if AND how intense of pain we need to be motivated to let that injury heal.
It can help to take a look at all of our senses and consider how our brain interprets data to encourage a response from us.
I have a 12 week program guiding people from suffering in pain to feeling free in an active body and an adventurous life. This includes optional weekly group meetups and 1:1 sessions.
