While praying for physical healing of my serious and progressively disabling chronic illness and its pain, I’m constantly asking God for wisdom, courage, and strength. The Lord has shown me through Scripture that I must focus on Jesus Christ, the Suffering Servant, rather than letting my thoughts fixate on what’s happening with my body.
For Jesus understands the agonizing grip of a broken body better than anyone.
“This is my body, which is given…for you” (Lk. 22:19 ESV).
In this short video, I’m praying with you, my sister in Christ who is also suffering with chronic pain or serious illness. We hear God’s Word and we reflect on the beautiful hymn, as the piano soothes our thoughts, body, and emotions.
How sweet the name of Jesus sounds
in a believer’s ear!
It soothes his sorrows, heals his wounds,
and drives away his fear.
We pray to Jesus, our Lamb of God, our strength as we suffer, healing oil poured out on us in His abiding love. We praise Him, and we glorify Him as we pray His names. For Jesus Christ is the “name above every name…not only in this age but also in the age to come.” And He is our beloved Savior and Lord.
Into chronic pain and illness, we sing, “How Sweet the Name of Jesus Sounds.” I’m praying this video will be encouraging and refreshing to you for the harder days of pain and loss. With love in Christ to you.
