It’s natural when you have chronic pain and illness to want a label. You want a diagnosis. You want to know WHY you’re having chronic pain! You want to know WHY you keep getting injured!

You may think that knowing the diagnosis will make treatment and healing better.

Sometimes this is true, but sometimes giving it a label actually makes things worse.

I’ll talk later about why a label can make it worse (or you can just listen to the whole podcast), but for now let’s just understand that chronic pain cannot be reduced to a diagnosis code or simple label. YOU ARE SO MUCH MORE THAN YOUR DIAGNOSIS.
